The use of frozen semen and artificial insemination supports genetic diversity with access to Alaskan Malamutes who reside across the globe and Malamutes who lived decades ago. All of our frozen sires have been health-tested with the appropriate screening for the breed and were carefully selected in line with our focus on longevity, overall health, and superb temperaments. Listed below are some of the frozen sires--past and present-- who contributed to our Snowlion breeding program.
Sire: BIS, BISS Am/Can Ch Nanukes Revolutionary ROM OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Ch Nanukes Seal of Approval ROM OFA excellent
Charlie was an impressive boy with a beautiful head & expression. He sired numerous champions including four of our Best in Show dogs. As a stud dog he had a tremendous influence on our breeding program & appears in most of our pedigrees. Charlie was prepotent for correct structure and reinforced the excellent movement & good fronts we had from our Rmal Skyfyre foundation bitches.
Sire: BISS Ch Nanuke’s A Rumor of War ROM WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Snowlion’s Sierra Noel WTD “Binky” OFA excellent, eyes, Pn clear
Chase is a fun-loving, affectionate boy and the sire of our red girls—Ch Snowlion Red Moon Rising "Ziggy" and Kenna. He is the half-brother to several of our Best in Show males, and in our opinion, the better producer—his pups, especially the females, have remarkable breed type & excellent bone and movement. Chase has earned points toward his AKC championship, but he prefers to run in harness rather than travel the show circuit.
Sire: Uyak Aleut Alex ROM OFA excellent, eyes clear
Dam: Snowlion’Sierra Noel WTD PennHip good, eyes clear
Ranger takes after his lovely dam, Sierra, with her lovely head, small ears, heavy bone and her flowing, effortless side gait. He was a precocious pup-- running single lead at 10 months. Super sled dog, incredibly smart, he was one of our favorites boys. He produces pups with excellent type and working ability— brains and beauty all rolled into one.
Sire: Am/Can Ch Rmal Gr-Cld Trauma Makes My Day WTD OFA Excellent
Dam: Rmal’s April Snow OFA good
Zzombe, our foundation dog, is the the sire & grandsire of several champions and Best in Show dogs. He had one of the gentlest dispositions I’ve seen in a malamute. Zzombe was also a strong working dog, earning his packing title at 9 months and running lead on our team until he was 11 years old. He is an old style working dog who consistently produces large bone and flawless movement. A malamute breeder judge once told us he was one of the best moving malamutes he’d seen. His pedigree is a complete outcross to the predominant show lines today and thus represents an important gene pool for preserving genetic diversity.
Sire: Am/Cn Ch Snowlion’s Above the Clouds WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Snowlion’s Sierra Noel WTD “Binky” OFA excellent, eyes, PN clear
Jake, a showy dog with strong movement and a sparking personality finished his championships in the U.S. and China quickly. He is the sire of MBIS Multi Ch Snowlion Polar SunLion, who was one of the top winning dogs in South America. Jake is prepotent for heavy bone, substantial build and a beautiful standoff coat.
Sire: BISS Ch Nanuke’s A Rumor of War ROM WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Snowlion’Sierra Noel WTD, WPD WD-ROM Pennhip good, eyes clear
Shasta was a playful malamute, always coming up with new antics in the ring. Unbeknownst to me, his co-owner taught him to play dead. At one show the judge pointed at him to move into first place for winners and Shasta promptly dropped on the ground. The crowd thought it was hysterical, the judge was annoyed and I was so embarrassed. We did not win that day. Shasta is best known for his perfect movement. A multi Best in Show dog, he also won Breed at Westminister. He is one of 3 Best in Show dogs we produced from the Sierra x Charlie breeding.
Sire: BISS Ch Nanuke’s A Rumor of War ROM WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Ch Snowlion Trekn Abov T’Clouds WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Karma loved the show ring and finished his American and Australian championships in record time. He was, perhaps, one of our best moving dogs with his clean out & back and beautiful sidegait. A top winner down under, he was widely used and is the sire and grandsire of several champions in Australia. He is Logan’s half-brother (out of Jade, a Kali daughter) and the sire of our Julien and our puppy boy River.
Sire: Ch Snowlion’s Fyre Devil Hips DVM rated good, elbows, eyes clear
Dam: Ch Snowlion Trekn Abov T’Clouds WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Logan is a stunning dark sable male with a ground-covering gait, small ears, beautiful head, dense coat, excellent bone. He stamps his offspring with his remarkable breed type and easy-going demeanor. An affectionate male with a laid-back personality, Logan was a pleasure to run on our sled team.
Sire: Uyak Aleut Alex ROM OFA excellent, eyes clear
Dam: Snowlion’Sierra Noel WTD PennHip good, eyes clear
Koyuk visited us briefly to be shown to his championship. He has sired several champions including our Logan (listed above). He is a well-balanced boy, with good substance, coarse stand off coat, clean coming and going, and nice side gait. In that aspect, he takes after his dam Jasmine who is Shasta’s littersister—both were excellent movers. His pedigree includes the three main lines behind our dogs.
Sire: Snowlion’s Mystik Ca-mai WTD OFA good, eyes clear
Dam: Ch Snowlion’s Dakshinkali WTD, WPD OFA good, eyes clear
Zeus visited us briefly to be shown and won two majors his first weekend out going Best of Winners and Best of Breed even while out of coat. He is line bred on our foundation bitch Kali Devi. His sire Ca-mai is litter brother to Sierra, one of our top-producing girls. His dam Ch Tai is a half-sister to several BIS males and has produced outstanding champions in the U.S. and in Europe. Zeus is the sire of Brook, Ch Snowlion’s Kathmandu Dreaming, who is perhaps one of the best Malamute sled dogs we’ve had the pleasure of running.
Sire: Bandit's Pretty Boy Floyd no clearances found
Dam: Uyak Unco Una OFA Fair
Alex was a handsome sable boy. He sired some lovely champion offspring when bred to our bitches. Although Alex was shown numerous times by experienced handlers, he managed to only pick up 1 point (15 are required for a championship), so we decided he'd be happiest living as a family pet.
