About Us
Founded in 1989, Snowlion Alaskan Malamutes™ is a show & sledding kennel in the northern Sierra dedicated to preserving the working heritage & classic beauty of this arctic breed. Our Malamutes are bred to the AKC standard for correct size & breed characteristics—including temperament, performance & appearance. We are well-known for producing beautiful companion dogs with outstanding temperaments.
While our dogs have competed successfully world-wide, winning numerous Best in Show awards & championships, our priority is ensuring that each of our Alaskan Malamutes enjoys a healthy, happy life as a cherished companion. Producing healthy, well-socialized, athletic Malamutes capable of fulfilling multiple roles as family pets, show and working—is our proudest achievement.
Alaskan Malamute Puppies
Snowlion Alaskan Malamutes are carefully bred with regard to health & temperament. Our goal is to produce beautiful, long-lived family dogs as well as champion quality working dogs. Puppies are from AKC champions & working-titled Malamutes with the recommended health clearances for this breed.
Snowlion puppies are born & raised in our home and receive veterinary exams prior to joining their new families. By keeping our kennel small, each of our Alaskan Malamutes benefits from living as a house dog-- as part of our family. To that end, we work closely with friends & co-owners for shared breedings.
